To Update the Properties of a Material

The Material Item Properties dialog box is used to update the properties of a particular material item. If you make changes to a material's Cost field, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer will update the installation, removal, and transfer costs of any macro and compatible units containing the material. These updates affect the items in the Units Catalog only (i.e., unassigned materials and units). Any design to which the material (or unit) has already been assigned retains its original cost data.

From the list of materials in the Materials view, select the material that you want to update.
From the File menu, point to Open and then click Material to open the Material Item Properties dialog box.
Or right-click the material and select Properties from the shortcut menu.
Note: To access this dialog box from the Unit Assistant or the Design Assistant, click the Materials tab of the Units Catalog, right-click the material that you want to edit, and select Properties from the shortcut menu.
Make the necessary changes and click OK.
